JV Wins 13th Annual DBP Wood Bat Tournament
5/14 – DBP Wins Over Hudson Catholic 7-5
Mike Lenehan got the start for the IRONMEN. Andrew Weland relieved and threw 3 strong innings for the win. Bobby Pigozzi pitched the 7th. Anthony Petrosino, Tom Courtney, Matt Lengua, Matt Herasme and Justin Cabanas led a balanced hitting attach for Bosco.
5/15 DBP Wins Over St. Peter’s Prep 5-1
Billy O’Brien got the start on the hill for the IRONMEN and threw 5 strong innings in the Semi Finals for the win. Matt Herasme threw the final 2 innings. Anthony Petrosino and Ryan Carr paced the IRONMEN offense, each hitting a triple. Steven Candela and Justin Cabanas each delivered two-out run scoring hits for the IRONMEN.
5/15 DBP Wins Over Bergen Catholic 5-2 – Championship Game
After falling behind 2-0 early, the IRONMEN scored 5 unanswered to beat the Crusaders 5-2 in the Finals. THe Bosco comeback was fueled by timely hitting from Tommy Courtney, Matt Herasme, Matt Lengua, Ryan Carr, Justin Cabanas and a two out run scoring single by Anthony Petrosino. Matt Costanzo delivered a sacrifice fly in the 6th for Bosco’s fifth and final run. Drew Helmstetter got the start for Bosco and threw 6 1/3 terrific innings for the IRONMEN. Andrew Weland came on in the 7th to shut the door on the Crusaders and record the 2 final outs to earn the save.
